My son Connor saw a lacrosse match on TV when he was five and told me he wanted to play. I never played lacrosse, so I asked around and people recommended Coach Sal and his team at HoopLax. Connor attended Sal's clinics for two years before he started to play in the Mavericks Lacrosse League. What I love is that they focus on the fundamentals, they really seem to enjoy coaching the kids, and they make it fun. We've now moved on to small group training, and the improvement I've seen in my son's skills is amazing. He is a righty, and his left hand was weak, so Coach Sal and staff made sure he worked on the left. He just completed his tryouts for the Maverick Select travel team, and he made the team, due in large part to the skills he developed working with Coach Sal and the HoopLax team. I would highly recommend Coach Sal and the HoopLax team to anyone interested in learning the game, or improving their skills, no matter what their level or ability.

Coach Sal's work is tremendous. He makes you work on your left hand in drills and now my left hand is almost as good as my right. I like working with the coaches and the drills are almost as fun as a game, especially the basketball (3 on 2) drill. Thanks Coach Sal.

When I first started going to Coach G I didn't know anything about playing goalie. I trained with him throughout the winter and each week I noticed a huge improvement in my skills. I ended up playing JV and Varsity goalie as a freshman.

This is my son's 2nd training experience with Hooplax. We have found Coach Guastella and Coach Finochio to be great instructors, with lots of LAX knowledge and enthusiasm. They are quick to correct faults in a positive, generous, supporting manner. They make learning lacrosse fun. My son has definitely improved under their tutelage, and we will be back again next year. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

I've been training with Coach Sal for about five years, and the skills I learned five years ago are still invaluable to me now. In the beginning of the first winter I trained with Coach Sal, I had no left hand. By the end, my left was equal to my right, especially with catching and throwing. Coach Sal's training forced me to make quick decisions while working in tight spaces, and those are perhaps the most valuable skills a player can learn.

"My daughter has trained with Coach Guastella the last 2 winters before the spring season. Each year her level of play has increased dramatically. Not only does Coach Guastella understand the game of lacrosse and the skills critical to success, but his training style produces tangible results. It is also clear from watching some of the sessions that he is very passionate about the game and thoroughly enjoys working with the players to help them continually improve. He is also very accessible to discuss any aspect of the training and provides regular feedback on your child’s progress. I could go on, but my daughter and I can’t thank Coach Guastella enough for the difference he has made in her skill level and genuine love of the sport!"

“I really improved my game after Coach G's winter training sessions. His techniques especially helped my technical skills."

"My 9th grade son has participated in small group instruction the last three years and attended Coach Sal's summer camps the last two years. My son's lacrosse skill level and knowledge of the game have improved dramatically as a result of Coach Sal's attention to doing things right every time and focusing on the small details in their drills and scrimmages. Coach Sal's camps are well organized, very focused and fun yet challenging at the same time. My son has been participating (and will continue through high school) in Coach Sal's small group instruction sessions. There is a direct correlation between my son's participation in these small group instruction sessions/summer camps and the enhancement of his lacrosse skills. As a result of this instruction, my son is starting for his freshmen team at CBA, which is consistently ranked among the top two teams in the shore conference/perennial private school lacrosse powerhouse in New Jersey. In addition, my son is starting for one of the elite summer HS All Star travel teams in NJ. This is also true for my son's best friend/current teammate who has attended the same sessions/camps. These results speak for themselves. The money I have spent on Coach Sal's camps/small group instruction has been the best money I have spent in enhancing my son's lacrosse skills."

"Our 12-year-old son attended Coach Guastella's Fall 2007 indoor lacrosse league in the Fall of 2007 as well as his clinic in the Winter 2007/Spring 2008. Our son responded very well to Coach Guastella's coaching style/methods and we saw a marked improvement in his lacrosse skills from the Spring 2007 to Spring 2008. Our son's goal for 2008 was to make a travel lacrosse team. And we are happy to say that due to our son's increased confidence, he was able to earn a spot on a travel lacrosse team. We have also heard from members of his Spring 2008 Holmdel HS team about how much they LOVE playing for Coach Guastella. We cannot think of a better role model for lacrosse than Coach Guastella".

"Our son Anthony has been privately coached by Sal Guastella for three years and has also been a member of his summer clinic. With Sal’s coaching Anthony has improved his skills immensely. Besides being very knowledgeable about lacrosse, Sal really knows how to relate to the kids. They really enjoy being coached by him. When having to choose between playing for Tri-State or Sal’s travel team 360 Lacrosse, Anthony chose to play for Sal. We are very happy with the training Anthony has received from Sal."

"Our son's skills improved dramatically after working with Coach Sal and he gained a lot more confidence on the lacrosse field.
Bottom line: if you want your child to improve, and learn to love the game, send him or her to Coach Sal’s training sessions!"
